I am pleased to share an important update about the Tasmanian Family and Sexual Violence Alliance Board as we move into our second year.

First, I’d like to extend a warm and sincere thank you to our outgoing Board members, Interim Chair, Alina Thomas, and Individual Board Director, Nic McBride. Their leadership, vision and commitment have been central in shaping the Alliance in its formative years, laying strong foundations for our work to support the sector, improve outcomes for victim-survivors and work towards ending gendered violence.

I am also delighted to welcome our new Board Directors – Michael Kelly, Karin Mathison, Marcy Nicholson – and Rachel Dunn, who will commence in the role of Individual Board Director after fulfilling a casual vacancy, and will ensure we continue to have a strong voice for Tasmanian Aboriginal people on the Board. Together, they bring a breadth of skills and experience in governance, leadership, advocacy and organisational growth. Their combined expertise will strengthen our Board at a pivotal time for our organisation, as we broaden and open our membership and grow the Alliance’s role in supporting the sector.
