Join community leaders, health professionals, advocates, researchers and people with lived experience for a community forum exploring the impacts of alcohol harm in Tasmania and the opportunities presented by the current review of Tasmania’s Liquor Act.

Alcohol harm affects families, communities, health services and workplaces across Tasmania. Yet opportunities to strengthen alcohol policy and reduce preventable harm only come along occasionally. The current review of Tasmania’s Liquor Act represents an important chance to ensure the legislation better protects the health and wellbeing of Tasmanians.

This forum will bring together voices from across the community to:

  • Hear from people with lived and living experience of alcohol harm
  • Explore the impact of alcohol on families, communities and frontline services
  • Discuss evidence on alcohol policy and harm prevention
  • Consider opportunities to improve health, safety and wellbeing through the Liquor Act Review
  • Identify practical actions that can help reduce alcohol-related harm in Tasmania.

The forum will provide an opportunity to learn, connect and contribute to an important conversation about the future of alcohol policy in Tasmania.
